Matthew 20:16 NKJV
So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen.

Romans 9:15 NLT
For God said to Moses, “I will show mercy to anyone I choose,
and I will show compassion to anyone I choose.”

I thank God today that He is God alone, who does great and wondrous things (Psalm 86:10). How great are His signs, and how mighty His wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and His dominion is from generation to generation (Daniel 4:3). It is God who has the final say in our lives. He is the one who chooses to bless, at his discretion. He will show mercy to anyone He chooses, and compassion to anyone He chooses (Romans 9:15).

My heart is focused today on knowing that God will bless whomever He chooses. Many of us may not have reported for duty to serve God early in our lives. For many of us it has taken a lot to come to the place where we can truly say that we seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Learning as we go, we surrender our hearts to God with a sincere desire to live a life that is pleasing and productive to Him. I find comfort and hope in knowing that living by faith is pleasing to God and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). Let's trust God's judgement and His timing to choose us to receive His mercy, compassion, and favor. He has dominion and power over all things. Promotion comes from Him (Psalm 75:6-7).  We may not be deemed by people to be next in line or qualified for the blessing of our hearts' desires. But because we believe and live by faith with hearts that desire to please Him, God can choose to make us first to receive the greatest blessings of our lives. He can bless us without us having put in the time, done the work, or passed the tests required to receive the blessing.

His word in Deuteronomy 6:10-11 declares:
So it shall be, when the Lord your God brings you into the land of which He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give you large and beautiful cities which you did not build, houses full of all good things, which you did not fill, hewn-out wells which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant...

His word in Psalm 37:4 declares:
Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

My encouragement today is simply a reminder that by seeking first the Kingdom of God and all righteousness, we create lives by our faith that are pleasing to God. Making this way of life our priority get's the attention of God--Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20). Let's position ourselves in the heart of God to be His choice to receive unmerited mercy, compassion, and favor.

Be Blessed!
