The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, “Samuel! Samuel! ” Then Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant is listening.” 1 Samuel 3:10
With the month of December underway, and a new decade just ahead in January, many of us are giving thought to our plans for this new season. As we do so, “let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.” (Hebrews 10:23) God has promised us that His word will not return void and it will prosper in the thing for which He sent it (Isaiah 55:11). Let us invite God to speak to us and prepare to receive the word of God by His Spirit for the new season. Let’s put ourselves in a posture of prayer, stillness, and devotion expecting to hear from God a word of direction for that which is to come. It is important to remember that when we commit to the Lord whatever we do He will establish our plans. (Proverbs 16:3)
I encourage you today to hear from God and to submissively allow Him to establish your plans for the new year, and the new decade. Spend time before the Lord in the spirit and in the truth of His word (John 4:24). Let God know that you love Him, you trust Him, and that you are listening for His word to establish your way forward.
Be Blessed! ~Nina
