Legendary Faith

The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see. The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd.
Hebrews 11:1-2 MSG

Every now and then I find myself on the verge of being concerned about the really big promises God has planted in my heart by faith. You know the kind of promises that take seasons of waiting, periods of testing, and what seems like a lifetime of preparation to even seem like they might materialize, but that we hold most dear because the seeds of belief were planted in us by God. In those moments of contemplation I go to Hebrews 11 to read the stories of Biblical heroes and how they each believed God and established a legacy by faith that moved humanity forward and has become legendary throughout the ages. Everything we accomplish in present day is a continuation of the works of faith of those who have come before us. The faith we hold dear is for the benefit of those in generations to come (Philippians 1:6)
Let us be reminded that our faith is part of a continuum in the legacy of God's glory in the earth through the power of Christ. Therefore it is important that we recognize that our faith is legendary. The faith that we profess and demonstrate in our lifetime is connected to the legacy of faith that was set in motion when the earth was formed.

"By faith, we see the world called into existence by God’s word, what we see created by what we don’t see."
Hebrews 11:3

I encourage you to join me in the reading of Hebrews 11 today, to be reminded of and strengthened by the legends of faith. Upon their shoulders we stand by faith.
Let us all be strengthened in our faith and reminded of the faith legacies of those who came before us.

Declaration: By faith I believe that God is working in my life to  continue his legacy.
